Data's client account teams. For 20 months - from February, 2007 to Election Day - Chuck led the team that worked for Obama For America, fulfilling a dream to elect the most transformative political figure to emerge in this country in his lifetime and raising almost $106 million in the mail from over 700,000 donors. Joe Manes is a Senior Vice-President and head of our Washington, D.C. office; and is intimately involved from both a creative and strategic aspect in the programs of all of A.B. Data’s Washington-based clients. Joe originally came to Washington in 1982 with a desire to fight the Moral Majority as the direct result of receiving a direct mail solicitation from People For the American Way. Instead of sending money, Joe moved from California and, as its Membership Director, he helped manage PFAW's dramatic growth from 40,000 to 200,000 donors in four years. This early experience helped shape Joe’s philosophy that direct mail is both a powerful fundraising and constituency mobilization tool. Joe joined A.B. Data in 1993 to open the Washington, D.C. office and has helped grow the company dramatically.
