AB Data - Targeted Fundraising Communications

Meet Our Team

Charles Pruitt is Co-Managing Director of the A.B. Data Group and heads the Consulting Division. Chuck is actively involved in all aspects of A.B. Data’s direct marketing efforts. Most recently, he spearheaded all our efforts on behalf of the record-breaking Obama for America campaign which raised more money through direct mail than any political campaign in American history. That success was due to a laser-like focus on analytics, creative strategy and an appreciation, early on, of the relationship between online, telemarketing and direct mail giving and maximizing cross-channel marketing efforts. Chuck recently completed a two-year term as President of the University of Wisconsin Board of Regents and continues to serve as a member of the Board.

Joe Manes is a Senior Vice-President and head of our Washington, D.C. office and is intimately involved from both a creative and strategic aspect in the programs of all of A.B. Data’s Washington-based clients. Joe originally came to Washington in 1982 with a desire to fight the Moral Majority as the direct result of receiving a direct mail solicitation from People For the American Way. Instead of sending money, Joe moved from California and, as its Membership Director, he helped manage PFAW's dramatic growth from 40,000 to 200,000 donors in four years. This early experience helped shape Joe’s philosophy that direct mail is both a powerful fundraising and constituency mobilization tool. Joe joined A.B. Data in 1993 to open the Washington, D.C. office and has helped grow the company dramatically.
